City of Henderson Offers Landscape Loans For New Home Projects

Hello again. Rob here from Desert Springs Landscaping. Do you live in Henderson, Nevada? If so, you can qualify for two different loan programs if you want to create a new landscaping project. The loan limits are up to $5,000 and one doesn’t have to be paid back until you no longer live in the home. The other offers 3% interest amortized over seven years. And more good news is that both of the loans can be combined with the Southern Nevada Water Authority turf removal rebate program.

Henderson Landscaping Loan

The first loan–called the Home Enrichment Landscape Program (HELP)–can be used for blight and turf removal and is available only if you live in the home and are the owner of the residence. If you qualify–that depends on home size and income factors–the landscape loan features zero percent interest and the payment is deferred until you no longer live in the home. You can visit the official website at the link above for more details or call the City of Henderson at 258-7283.Landscapes that conform to SNWA water rebate regulations can still be beautiful

The other loan program also offers a $5,000 loan for turf removal projects that conform to the Southern Nevada Water Authority turf removal rebate program. That loan features 3% interest and must be paid back in seven years. A minimum credit score of 570 is needed to qualify.

The loan can help cover any additional costs not covered by the SNWA rebate of  $1.50 per square foot of grass removed and replaced with desert landscaping up to the first 5,000 square feet converted per property, per year. Beyond the first 5,000 feet, SNWA will provide a rebate of $1 per square foot. Click now for more info about the SNWA turf removal rebate.

For both City of Henderson loans, the homes must be located within Henderson boundaries. That is not the case for the SNWA water rebates as that program is administered by the Southern Nevada Water Authority. And the SNWA experts remind us to remember that taking out turf will also produce savings on your water bill for months and years to come.

The SNWA experts estimate that every square foot of grass replaced with water-smart trees, shrubs and flowers saves an average of 55 gallons of water per year, which will translate into savings on those dastardly water bills. And also remember that just because you take out turf it doesn’t mean that your yard will look like a barren desert. We can help you choose plants that keep your yard beautiful while helping the environment and saving you some money.
