One question we get a lot is about the Southern Nevada Water Authority Water Smart landscaping rebates. It seems some people believe this program has ended but we want you to know that it is still available. Below we will reveal some of the details about this Las Vegas water conservation program but I want you to also know that we can help you with this if and when decide to create your dream Las Vegas landscape in your backyard and/or front yard.
Anyway, the deal is this (and this is directly from the SNWA.com website): “SNWA will rebate customers $1.50 per square foot of grass removed and replaced with desert landscaping up to the first 5,000 square feet converted per property, per year. Beyond the first 5,000 feet, SNWA will provide a rebate of $1 per square foot. The maximum award for any property in a fiscal year is $300,000.” Click now to view this official page at the SNWA official website.
You can read all about the Las Vegas Water Smart conservation rebate guidelines, but I wanted to point out a couple very important items before you begin. The MOST IMPORTANT thing is you have to have the area you want to replace inspected by the SNWA prior to beginning your project. If you DO NOT, you will not be eligible to receive the rebate. So even if you take photos or document your Las Vegas landscaping project in another way, if you don’t have it inspected by an SNWA agent prior to starting, your project is ineligible. Period.
Another misunderstanding with this rebate is that homeowners do not have to convert your entire grass area to be eligible. Many people don’t bother calling if they are only taking out some of their lush vegetation. The SNWA understands that taking out all of the lawn is sometimes not an option for everyone. Below is a sample Water Smart landscape design from SNWA.com. If you click the image, you will be taken to an interactive map that details the plants and vegetation in the photo.
Also, the SNWA offers a special hotline that you can call to answer any questions. They also offer a plant guide and plenty of other information for you if and when you decide to start the conversion process. And, again, from their website: “Upon enrollment, you will receive the “Simply Beautiful” packet, a step-by-step guide to landscape planning, installation and maintenance. We also offer a variety of online tools and resources to help you plan and install your landscape and to maintain your new landscape.”
Thanks and good luck with your conversion. Keep your favorite Las Vegas landscapers in mind should you want professional landscaping expertise. Call us at 702.436.8080 or email us now for your free consultation and estimate.
